Playing Room Design for Two Children – Overview of a Completed Project by FeliFam

Sometimes even 10 m² can become a whole world for children, especially when the space is carefully planned. In this overview, we explore a completed playing room design project covering 10 m². Every centimeter of the space serves both functionality and the child’s development. For instance, we combined a two-level structure, a role-play area, and a sports corner into a cohesive solution, while maintaining a balance between aesthetics, safety, and the possibility of future adaptation.

Clients’ Requests and Our Solutions

Functional Space with Emphasis on Active Play and Sports Area

In the 10 m² room, we created a full play space with clear functional zoning. The design includes a two-level structure and an integrated sports corner with a climbing wall, forming an active development and movement area. The first level contains a role-play zone with themed café and kitchen elements, while the second level offers a comfortable soft area for rest and quiet play.

Warm Color Palette with Soft Accents and Furniture Materials

A light, minimal base of MDF combined with natural ash creates a warm and balanced atmosphere without visual overload. Soft accents are added through textile elements — upholstered panels, mattress, cushions, and poufs — adding depth and coziness. Natural and safe materials are used, fully meeting the requirements for children’s spaces.

Timeless Design, Suitable for Growth

The structure allows future adaptation to the child’s age and needs. The lower level can be transformed into a full learning zone with a study area and storage, while the upper level can later serve as a sleeping area or remain a quiet space for rest and leisure.

Storage Organization

The storage system is integrated into the architecture and does not overload the space. It combines closed modules for hidden storage of toys and personal items, open niches for quick access and display of favorite items, and built-in drawers in the steps, efficiently using every square meter. This solution maintains order, teaches organizational skills, and preserves visual cleanliness.

Result — A Convenient and Safe Playing Room for Two Children

This is more than just a room. It is a thoughtfully designed children’s world, offering space for movement, imagination, and calm rest. Even within just 10 m², we created an environment that inspires play and development while maintaining comfort and safety.

The space is lively and dynamic today, yet ready for future changes. It easily adapts to the age and needs of two children, growing with them while keeping its integrity and character.
